The Scottish Hotel Awards 2012 were held in Glasgow, Scotland, on May 20, 2012, with awards for the best hotels in Scotland.
The Scottish Hotel of the Year award went to The Chester Residence, in Edinburgh, Scotland. The awards were distributed in ten categories, covering everything from housekeeping and food and beverages, to customer satisfaction, progress and growth.
In an official statement, Gary McLean-Quin, the Chairman of Judges for the awards, said, ‘The whole point of this comprehensive awards program is to actively encourage, guide and recognise the highest standards at each individual hotel; then we consider the national, comparative picture to produce results helpful to both those within the industry and also the consumer. We celebrate all this at a showcase event unrivalled in its scale.’

Scottish Hotel Group of the Year: Apex Hotels
Budget Hotel of the Year: Holiday Inn Express Edinburgh City Centre
Premium Budget Hotel of the Year: CitizenM Glasgow
Good Value Award: Loch Kinord Hotel (Woodland Lodges)
Business Hotel of the Year: Hilton Garden Inn Glasgow
Business and Leisure Hotel Award: Menzies Glasgow Hotel
Conference Hotel of the Year: Beardmore Hotel
Brand Hotel of the Year: Holiday Inn Aberdeen West
Macdonald Hotels and Resorts has won five awards including the Group Breakfast of the Year Award, and Scottish Hotel Chef of the Year was won by John Paul McLachlan, the head chef from the Macdonald Marine Hotel and Spa in North Bertwick.
