easyJet, the UK-based regional airline, launched its first flight on a new route this week from Bristol to Hurghada in Egypt.
The new easyJet flights to the Egyptian resort operate twice a week on Wednesdays and Saturdays throughout the winter. Hurghada is an exciting winter sun get-away destination popular for diving, beach hopping and busy nightlife on the ‘Red Sea Riviera’. Tickets are available to book now, and the new service is expected to carry over 13,500 customers this winter.
Ali Gayward, easyJet’s UK Country Manager commented: ‘We are delighted to be launching our first flight from Bristol to Hurghada today. As the largest airline at Bristol we’re focused on strengthening our network and providing our customers in the South West with great value services by offering low fares, a convenient schedule and more choice when they travel.’
Nigel Scott, Business Development Director, Bristol Airport said: ‘We are delighted to welcome the inaugural easyJet flight between Bristol to Hurghada. The destination opens up further choice and flexibility of flights available to passengers in the region selecting to fly from their local airport. This additional route demonstrates the long-term collaboration and joint growth strategy between easyJet and Bristol Airport.’
Bristol Airport also announced last week that Lufthansa will introduce a new direct flight from Bristol to Frankfurt Airport. Commencing operations on March 30, 2020, the new service will operate twice daily six days per week and once daily on Saturdays. The service will run year round, using an Embraer 190 offering multiple onward travel connections from FRA throughout Europe, the Americas and Asia Pacific. Tickets are available to book now at lufthansa.com, with return economy fares starting from £105.
