RIU Hotels & Resorts will open its first establishment in the United Kingdom, the Riu Plaza London Victoria on Friday, July 28, 2023.
Located in central London, the new Riu Plaza London Victoria is situated in the heart of Westminster, close to iconic landmarks such as Buckingham Palace and Big Ben. The hotel is located just a few meters from Victoria Station, one of the busiest transport hubs in the country, and it’s a popular destination for both holiday and business tourism. The hotel is also close to strategic transport links and just 30 minutes away from Gatwick Airport via the direct Gatwick Express service.
The design of the Riu Plaza London Victoria is contemporary and minimalist, divided into two parts: the podium and the tower. The reception area is housed in a circular glass tower known as the ‘drum,’ with lobby features including a conical dome with an elegant hanging sculpture of organic shapes.
The Hotel Riu Plaza London Victoria has 435 modern rooms and superior suites with views of the city, a lobby bar, and a restaurant where guests can enjoy a full buffet breakfast included in the room rate, as well as a la carte dinners in the evening. Additionally, a fully equipped 24-hour fitness centre is available for guests’ use.
As part of the Riu Plaza city line, this London Victoria location is the tenth hotel of its kind, joining other notable destinations like Panama, Guadalajara in Mexico, Spain, Miami Beach, New York, Berlin, and Dublin. The chain continues to expand, with Chicago and Toronto expected to have RIU’s city hotels in the future.
RIU Hotels & Resorts, founded by the Riu family in Mallorca in 1953, specializes in holiday resorts, and over 70% of its establishments offer the All Inclusive by RIU service. The company now has 100 hotels in 20 countries and continues to grow as a choice for travellers worldwide.
