The Tewkesbury area recently experienced significant flooding, yet Courtney World Travel emerged largely unscathed.

Despite challenges, the agency managed to maintain its operations and even experienced a surge in bookings, highlighting its resilience.

Gloucestershire’s Courtney World Travel faced significant challenges as flooding impacted the Tewkesbury area. Nevertheless, the agency demonstrated resilience, successfully operating amidst road closures and evacuations. Stephanie Jepson, the managing partner, noted the agency’s luck in avoiding flood damage, attributing success to their location despite rising water levels of over 4.7 metres from Storm Henk. This event highlighted the team’s readiness to adapt under crisis conditions.

Even under these challenging circumstances, Courtney World Travel maintained its operations, with staff making it to the office thanks to Stephanie Jepson’s 4×4 vehicle. The team showed remarkable dedication by continuing to communicate with customers through emails until road conditions deteriorated. By prioritising customer engagement, the agency ensured business continuity during this unexpected natural disaster.

Courtney World Travel witnessed surprising customer loyalty, as locals braved adverse weather to visit the agency directly. “Our customers are so loyal,” remarked Jepson. The influx of in-person visits during this period was unexpected but welcomed. Jepson expressed gratitude for the strong ties with their clientele, resulting in a surge of bookings that surpassed email expectations.

Having weathered the major floods of 2007, Stephanie Jepson noted that last week’s flooding was comparatively manageable. Her experience from prior events prepared the team for the logistical challenges posed by flooding. “This was a breeze compared with that,” she recalled, referencing the 2007 struggles when water supply issues compounded the flooding crisis. Building resilience has been key to the agency’s sustained success.

Due to flooding, the agency’s staff were unable to attend the Aito Agents KickStart Conference in Leicestershire. However, they remained focused on local operations. The team’s adaptability to external events was further demonstrated by the increase in bookings, particularly in cruise packages and destinations like Mauritius and Europe. Adapting strategies quickly enabled them to capitalise on market opportunities despite physical attendance restrictions.

The agency reported a busy start to the year, with notable interest in cruises and other travel packages. Jepson expressed optimism for continued growth, sharing, “Last year was the best year ever and I hope it improves again.” This optimistic future outlook aligns with broader market trends suggesting a flourishing travel sector as more consumers plan holidays.

In facing the recent challenges posed by the flooding, Courtney World Travel showcased robust crisis management and unwavering customer relationships. By learning from past experiences and demonstrating adaptability, the agency not only managed to sustain operations but also leveraged the situation to strengthen client loyalty and business growth. Their journey highlights the importance of resilience and strategic response in navigating industry adversities.

Courtney World Travel’s ability to adapt to crisis conditions has reinforced its reputation for reliability.
