Organisers of the Best Workplaces in Travel awards have extended the entry deadline to March 18.

This change comes in response to the overwhelming number of entries received, accommodating more organisations wishing to participate.

The decision to extend the deadline aims to further encourage participation from travel-related companies, which have shown tremendous interest.

Organisers highlighted that entries were “flying in right up until the last minute”, necessitating an extension to manage the volume adequately.

This year sees new entrants such as Travel Counsellors, Key Travel, Steppes Travel, and Stewart Travel Group.

Several companies choose to remain unnamed at this stage, maintaining the competition’s excitement till the final participant list is unveiled.

Notably, easyJet Holidays, G Adventures, and Panache Cruises are participating for the third consecutive year, underscoring the significance of this recognition.

Upon registration, companies must complete an employee survey by May 3.

This survey reveals crucial insights into travel industry workforce issues, playing a pivotal role in enhancing workplace standards.

The survey feedback helps companies identify key drivers for employee satisfaction and improvement areas.

The awards will culminate in a ceremony on June 10, recognising top-performing companies within the travel sector.

Earlier that day, a collaborative event with Travel Weekly, the Travel Weekly People Summit, will take place.

Deloitte will host the half-day conference at its central London offices.

The Best Workplaces in Travel initiative was launched in 2022 by Gail Kenny, a recruitment specialist in the travel industry.

The programme includes an annual employee engagement survey and awards event, fostering better workplace environments.

Since its inception, the awards have become a benchmark for excellence in the travel sector, driving competition and improvement.

Travel Weekly has been an integral partner in organising the People Summit, contributing to its success.

The summit and awards aim to foster collaboration and share best practices across the industry.

Such events encourage networking and provide a platform for discussing industry challenges and innovations.

The extension reflects the growing importance of workplace culture within the travel industry.

It is anticipated that more companies will recognise the value in participating, seeking to improve their organisational culture.

Through these engagements, the industry aims to enhance overall employee satisfaction and operational efficiency.

The extended deadline for the Best Workplaces in Travel awards showcases the industry’s commitment to recognising and improving workplace standards.

With active participation and collaboration, the travel sector continues to innovate and strive for excellence.
