Abta releases its first ‘Destinations to Watch’ report since the pandemic, highlighting travel trends for 2024.

    • The report identifies 10 key destinations gaining attention from travellers, based on travel experts’ insights.
    • Albania, Crete, Mauritius, and Zambia are among the prominent locations highlighted in the report.
    • Abta predicts a shift towards all-year travel, with a focus on value and shoulder season popularity.
    • Publication coincides with ‘Sunshine Saturday’, a significant day for travel bookings in the UK.

Abta has unveiled its inaugural ‘Destinations to Watch’ report since the onset of the pandemic, offering insights into emerging travel trends for 2024. This comprehensive report highlights 10 destinations that are poised to capture the interest of global travellers in the coming year.

The report showcases locations such as Albania, Crete, Mauritius, and Zambia, emphasising the distinctive appeal and diverse experiences these regions offer. Abta’s travel experts have meticulously curated this list, assuring travellers of unique and engaging holiday options.

A notable trend identified by Abta is the anticipated shift towards all-year travel. This change is driven by consumers’ search for value, leading to increased popularity of travel during the shoulder seasons. Destinations were selected based on their ability to offer value for money, aligning with this evolving preference.

The release of the report is strategically timed just before ‘Sunshine Saturday’, traditionally a peak day for holiday bookings in the UK. Abta’s research indicates that 64% of individuals planned to travel abroad, while 58% intended to enjoy holidays within the UK over the upcoming months.

By publishing this report, Abta aims to inspire travellers and promote informed trip planning with the assistance of travel experts.
