The ‘Spain for All’ campaign, led by Ade Adepitan, highlights Spain’s commitment to accessibility.

    • Adepitan will serve as the ambassador for this initiative, bringing his personal experiences into the advisory panel.
    • The campaign follows a survey where 86% of UK respondents found Spain to be accessible.
    • The initiative includes consultancy from Adepitan, particularly focused on challenges faced by wheelchair users.
    • Adepitan’s role underscores the importance of accessibility in Spanish tourism, emphasising the spending power of the disabled community.

The ‘Spain for All’ campaign, championed by Ade Adepitan, represents a significant effort to enhance accessibility and social inclusivity in Spain’s tourism sector. Adepitan, known for his advocacy and experience, has been appointed as the official ambassador of this initiative. His role entails collaboration with a travel industry advisory panel to pinpoint challenges and identify opportunities for enhancing accessibility.

The campaign follows a survey conducted in the UK in December, which revealed that 86% of respondents considered Spain to be ‘very or quite’ accessible as a travel destination. This initiative aims to build on such perceptions, ensuring that accessibility is a focal point of the country’s tourism strategy. Adepitan’s personal experiences, including his residency in Zaragoza and extensive travel throughout Spain, provide valuable insights and feedback to the advisory panel.

Adepitan’s responsibilities extend to providing consultancy services, sharing personal travel experiences as a wheelchair user, and endorsing key elements of the campaign. He also plays a pivotal role in the upcoming Spain Sustainability Day on April 17, where social sustainability and accessibility will be integral topics of discussion.

In his statement, Adepitan expressed his enthusiasm for the project, highlighting the transformative potential of the campaign. He remarked, “This type of campaign can truly have a life changing impact on the disabled community,” which has often been neglected in tourism planning. He advocated for more inclusive treatment, urging industry professionals to listen and cater to the needs of people with disabilities without assumptions.

Spanish Tourist Office UK director Manuel Butler praised Adepitan’s involvement, noting, “We are delighted to have Ade Adepitan on board as the ambassador for ‘Spain for All’.” Butler pointed out Adepitan’s extensive travels across Spain, from Zaragoza to Ibiza, affirming him as the ideal advocate to drive Spain’s goal of becoming more accessible.

The ‘Spain for All’ initiative marks a pivotal step towards a more accessible and inclusive Spanish tourism landscape.
