Saga is set to launch the Spirit of the Moselle in July 2025, marking an expansion of their river cruise offerings.

    • The 182-passenger ship will enhance the fleet, following the success of its sister ships, Spirit of the Rhine and Spirit of the Danube.
    • Construction began in January at the Vahali shipyard in Serbia, including a traditional keel-laying ceremony.
    • Spirit of the Moselle will cruise primarily on the Main River in Germany, offering passengers a unique travel experience.
    • Saga executives express enthusiasm for the ship’s introduction and the enhanced experiences it will bring to guests.

Saga is set to expand its river cruise fleet with the introduction of the Spirit of the Moselle, a new European river ship scheduled to enter service in July 2025. This vessel features a capacity of 182 passengers, promising to continue the successful legacy of Saga’s river cruising opportunities.

Drawing from the success of its predecessors, Spirit of the Rhine and Spirit of the Danube, this new ship is expected to uphold the high standards of service and tour experience that Saga is renowned for. The addition of Spirit of the Moselle comes in response to growing demand for river cruises, demonstrating Saga’s commitment to expanding its offerings.

The formal construction of the Spirit of the Moselle commenced in January with a keel-laying ceremony, a tradition that signifies the beginning of a ship’s build, held at the Vahali shipyard in Serbia. This ceremony marked a significant milestone in the vessel’s development, reflecting the care and precision involved in its creation.

Once completed, the Spirit of the Moselle will offer cruises primarily along the Main River in Germany, including stops in notable cities such as Nuremberg, Frankfurt, and Bamberg. The cruise route will also encompass the scenic Rhine Gorge, providing passengers with a picturesque travel experience.

The Spirit of the Moselle symbolizes Saga’s dedication to enhancing river cruise experiences while meeting growing market demand.
