Explore Virgin Voyages’ innovative offering with solar eclipse cruises in 2026.

    • The cruise line expands its itinerary with longer routes and special voyages.
    • New destinations include top international ports, catering to diverse traveller interests.
    • Exclusive events on board are tailored to enhance passenger experience during the eclipse.
    • Bookings for these unique voyages open soon, with priority access for loyalty members.

Virgin Voyages is charting a new course with its 2026 itineraries, introducing its first-ever cruises to coincide with a total solar eclipse on 12 August 2026. This innovative move marks the cruise line’s commitment to providing exceptional experiences, with a particular focus on longer voyages that cater to a wide array of traveller interests.

Among the newly announced routes are 12- and 15-night itineraries featuring stops in Dublin, Glasgow, and Reykjavik on the Valiant Lady, as well as journeys to the Amalfi Coast, Majorca, and Cannes on the Scarlet Lady. These cruises are set to include special events and guest appearances on board, designed to enhance the overall passenger experience during the solar eclipse.

Additionally, Virgin Voyages has added six new sailings between March and August 2026. These voyages range from eight to 16 nights, taking passengers from Iceland to Istanbul, and the British Isles to The Baltics. Twelve newly featured ports such as Salerno, Edinburgh, Stockholm, Hamburg, Oslo, Tangier, and Greenland are set to enrich the travel experience, offering diverse cultural and scenic adventures.

As Michelle Bentubo, the Chief Operating Officer, asserted, Virgin Voyages sails to over 100 international ports, with itineraries evolving based on feedback from both passengers and travel partners. “We’ve graduated from only offering short Caribbean escapes and weekender voyages to give our sailors longer itinerary options up to 14 nights at more ports around the world,” she stated. The brand’s growth and commitment to offering a variety of options highlight its dynamic and forward-thinking approach to travel.

General bookings for these new and exciting voyages will be available from 21 August to 18 September, following an initial period of exclusive access for loyalty members starting from 14 August.

Virgin Voyages’ new itineraries exemplify a bold step forward in travel innovation, offering passengers unprecedented experiences tied to celestial events.
