Caledonian Leisure has made a strategic move by acquiring Glasgow-based Tartan Travel, further entrenching their presence in the Scottish travel market. This acquisition opens up new departure points such as Edinburgh, Halbeath, and Bathgate, enhancing connectivity for travellers.

The joint partnership between Caledonian Leisure and Blackpool Promotions is designed to strengthen holiday packages offered to Blackpool, a major UK seaside destination. Caledonian Leisure will be promoting packages that include stays at hotels owned by Blackpool Promotions, such as The Royal Seabank Hotel and The Royal Boston Hotel.

Graham Rogers, the Managing Director of Caledonian Leisure, expressed his enthusiasm by stating, “We’re delighted that Tartan Travel has joined the Caledonian family. We also look forward to enhancing our offerings in Blackpool, which remains one of our top-selling destinations.” This partnership aims to leverage the popularity of Blackpool, capitalising on high sales volumes through Caledonian Travel and UKBreakaways.

John Westhead, Operations Director at Blackpool Promotions, shared his positive outlook: “This is the first time we have partnered with another holiday operator. Given Caledonian’s impressive market performance, we believe this collaboration will yield exceptional products and packages for our expanding audiences.”

The inclusion of Blackpool Promotions’ four hotels further enriches Caledonian’s service offerings, presenting a well-rounded portfolio to customers.

Both companies anticipate a successful integration and expect to deliver enhanced customer experiences due to the synergistic benefits stemming from their combined expertise and resources.

The acquisition of Tartan Travel by Caledonian Leisure and the partnership with Blackpool Promotions mark a forward-thinking approach in expanding UK’s travel and tour offerings.
