MSC Cruises announces the launch of MSC World Asia while floating out its sister ship, MSC World America, marking significant milestones in its fleet expansion.

    • MSC World Asia will bring unique design elements inspired by the Asian continent, yet its operational regions remain undisclosed.
    • MSC World America has entered the final construction phase and will be officially named at PortMiami in 2025.
    • Both ships demonstrate MSC Cruises’ commitment to advancing environmental technology, with MSC World Asia being the fourth LNG-powered ship.
    • The partnership between MSC Cruises and Chantiers de l’Atlantique continues to lead to innovative cruise experiences.

The cruise industry witnessed significant updates with MSC Cruises’ announcement of the MSC World Asia’s launch. This vessel introduces unique Asian-inspired design features, although details on its deployment locations remain under wraps, adding an air of anticipation among industry watchers and future passengers.

Meanwhile, its sister ship, MSC World America, has been successfully floated out from the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard, entering its final phase of construction. Scheduled for its naming ceremony on April 9, 2025, at MSC Cruises’ new terminal in PortMiami, this event will precede an inaugural voyage to Ocean Cay, the company’s private island in The Bahamas.

Both ships signify MSC Cruises’ ongoing dedication to eco-friendly advancements, particularly through the adoption of liquified natural gas (LNG) technology. MSC World Asia is set to be the fourth such vessel in the fleet, underscoring the company’s pathway towards integrating renewable LNG alternatives when commercially viable.

Pierfrancesco Vago, the executive chairman, highlighted the technological and guest experience innovations that come with each new ship, reinforcing MSC Cruises’ forward-thinking design ethos. He emphasized that these ships are crafted to enhance the holiday experiences of tomorrow’s travellers, blending environmental savvy with luxurious features.
