Travelodge is partnering with radio station, Absolute Radio, to promote the hotel chain’s London portfolio.
The UK-based hotel company is celebrating its achievement of having the most number of rooms for a single brand in London, with new partnerships and promotions. It is currently providing around 7,593 rooms in Central and Greater London, and around 35,400 rooms across the UK, Ireland and Spain. The hotel room rates commence at £19 per night.
The company is planning on opening 41 new hotels in the UK and will create 1,000 new jobs in the process. Twelve of the new Travelodge properties are opening in London in 2012.
The company’s current partnership with Absolute Radio, an independent radio station in the UK, is for nine weeks and will include a dedicated micro site at www.absoluteradio.co.uk, which will be featuring five Travelodge London destinations, at Covent Garden, Waterloo, Docklands, City Road and Euston.
Louise Simkins, the brand content director at Absolute Radio, said, ‘The tie-up has allowed for some creative on-air features and competition prizes, which will really help to add value to the partnership.’
The partnership between the hotel brand and the radio station is currently running three on-air promotions until June, 2012, which are themed around music, the Queen’s Jubilee and sports. The marketing promotion is offering prizes of two-night stays in Travelodge hotels, and is inclusive of activities and expenses. The promotion winners will also be offered ringside seats to see either The Charlatans at the London Hammersmith Apollo, or Keane at the London Brixton Academy, on June 8, 2012.
