Room Key, an online hotel search engine, has removed its beta tag, to become a fully-fledged search engine, offering a hotel search and booking facility for its customers.
In March 2012, the engine registered 1.9 million visitors, and is currently offering new tools for travellers, such as integrated consumer reviews and a shortlist tool for an interactive, social hotel search experience that may be shared with friends. The search engine has also launched a new Facebook page for its visitors.
Room Key has recently announced new direct connect hotel partners, including Best Western, Loews Hotels, Preferred Hotel Group, and World Hotels, and their products will be soon available live on the search engine.
Room Key is a joint venture, founded by six of the world’s best-known hotel companies, Choice Hotels International, Hilton Worldwide, Hyatt Hotels Corporation, InterContinental Hotels Group, Marriott International, and Wyndham Hotel Group.
John F Davis III, the company chief executive officer, said, ‘While a weekend getaway or a family summer vacation is intended to build enjoyable, long-lasting memories, dealing with the hassle of booking a hotel stay can often be an overwhelming, time-consuming and frustrating task.
We see our full site launch today as the first step in building relationships with travellers who can use Room Key’s newly developed tools to elevate the hotel shopping experience from one of uncertainty to one that’s a simple, social solution. With website traffic reaching nearly two million visitors per month in our first 90 days, we’re thrilled with the consumer response to Room Key and will continue to expand our offerings as part of our ongoing commitment to helping travellers search, book and relax.’
