Monarch, a firm that offers cheap flights and holidays for destinations across Europe, is now offering flights to new destinations.

The firm said that its new offer would allow customers to travel to the Alps for the 2012-13 ski season. It said that its offer targets holidaymakers who would like to enjoy the slopes while getting a good deal. From December this year, the company is offering flights to new ski destinations. The new itinerary will cover Grenoble in France, Munich and Friedrichsafen in Germany and Innsbruck in Austria. Customers will be offered the chance to book now for the upcoming season’s mountain programme.

The firm said that the flight to Grenoble would allow skiers to reach some of the well-known skiing destinations in less than 90 minutes. For example, big names in the industry such as Les Deux Alpes, Courchevel and Alpe d’Huez are easily reachable by road from Grenoble. Those that prefer smaller resorts, such as Megeve, can also journey there by road from Grenoble.

Munich and Innsbruck are also close to the resorts of the Austrian Tyrol, where traditional as well as modern ski facilities coexist. From here, skiers can visit well-known skiing destinations such as Mayrhofen, Obergurgl and St Anton. Tourists wanting to travel to the Italian Alps via Monarch’s existing routes to Milan, Venice and Verona may opt to do so. In addition to skiing, the alps also offer holiday activities for spring and summer holiday makers. Ski resorts offer summer activities including hiking, mountain biking and rock climbing.

The company said that flights to Innsbruck leave from Manchester, and flights to Munich and Grenoble will leave from Manchester, Birmingham, London Luton and Leeds/Bradford. Flights to Friedrichsafen will leave from Manchester and London Gatwick. Prices start from £34 per person, including taxes.
