Brittany Ferries has announced its 2016 golf breaks programme, providing access to 84 courses in Western France and nine in Northern Spain, for the benefit of UK golf fans.
With the programme, the car ferry service enables golf players and enthusiasts to carry all golf gear and trolley, in their cars, without having to pay heavy excess baggage charges.
Announcing the golf breaks programme, Brittany Ferries said: ‘With its outstanding cuisine, wine, cheeses and unique ambience, the apres-golf is part of what makes a golf break in France so memorable and so much fun.’
Bookings are on offer now, and those booking before December 15 may save 10 per cent, at a GBP40 per person deposit.
In France, travellers on a golf tour can take advantage of the food, wine and cultural experiences on offer, while Northern Spain can still feel largely undiscovered, boasting the Picos de Europa mountains and colourful vineyards.
Graham Ruth, Brittany Ferries’ Director of Golf, commented: ‘Many of our customers come back again and again and I think this is because once you have discovered how easy and delightful golfing in France and Northern Spain is you are hooked! And whether you are a couple or a group, the Brittany Ferries golf desk, staffed by keen golfers with a wealth of local knowledge, can advise not only on the courses, but on restaurants and the sights you shouldn’t miss. They can even book you a tailor-made package at no extra cost.’
The company said that with Brittany Ferries, the golf break could be very much a holiday, as it enables golfers to make the most of their time by crossing the channel overnight. A fleet of luxury cruise-ferries offers en-suite cabins, French restaurants and bars. However, for those not looking for long crossings, it also offers a high-speed service, transporting travellers from Portsmouth to France in just three hours, it said.
