Qatar Airways, a Qatar based airline company, is offering new smartphone applications for its regular passengers.

The airline has launched a new mobile application for BlackBerry, Android, and iPhone handsets, as well as introducing a new mobile website for its passengers.

The new apps are targeting today’s busy executives and business travellers, as well as leisure travellers who wish to access the latest travel information regarding the airline. The apps offer a search and book function for airline passengers, as well as the latest information on flight status, and travel alerts.

The airline chief executive officer, Akbar Al Baker, said, ‘We are continually looking for ways to bring new and exciting services to our customers.

Mobility is high on the list of our customers to have access to important travel and flight information when and where they want it, so we have now given them a new service that meets that demand. As our customers’ needs evolve, so will the services and products that we offer.’

Qatar Airways is one of the fastest growing airlines, operating a current fleet of 119 aircraft to 124 business and leisure destinations in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific and The Americas.

In 2013, the airline plans to offer new services to a number of new routes, including to Phnom Penh, in Cambodia, commencing on February 20, 2013, to Chengdu, in China, commencing on March 19, 2013, to Chicago, in the USA, commencing on April 10, 2013, and to Salalah, in Oman commencing on May 22, 2013.
