Sabre has launched a pioneering airline retailing platform called SabreMosaic, designed for the future of aviation commerce.

Focused on dynamic and personalised retailing, this platform leverages advanced Google technology to support both new and existing distribution channels.

Sabre has introduced a transformative platform, SabreMosaic, to revolutionise airline retailing. With a focus on new distribution capability (NDC) retailing, Sabre aims to transcend traditional distribution constraints while still supporting existing systems.

This innovative platform leverages Google AI and Cloud architecture, providing airlines with a modular and open technology structure. Airlines can tailor solutions to fit their specific needs, ushering in a new era of personalised and dynamic retailing experiences.

Prominent airlines such as American Airlines, Virgin Australia, Oman Air, and Air Serbia have endorsed SabreMosaic, highlighting its industry impact. A comprehensive roll-out of the platform is expected later this year.

These endorsements underscore the industry’s shift towards more sophisticated and consumer-oriented retail strategies, aligning with SabreMosaic’s capabilities.

SabreMosaic encompasses 10 new product suites, supplementing Sabre’s existing Retail Intelligence solutions like Air Price IQ, Ancillary IQ, and Upgrade IQ.

The platform allows airlines to define, manage, and retail both airline and third-party content.

Airlines can distribute a wide array of offers across various channels, facilitating the management and fulfilment of offers and handling diverse payment types.

This versatile approach helps airlines in maximising revenue opportunities from both traditional and non-traditional travel offers.

According to Sabre president and CEO Kurt Ekert, the development of SabreMosaic marks significant strategic investment, reflecting Sabre’s commitment to leading the future of airline retailing solutions.

Ekert emphasised the importance of delivering a modern, flexible retailing platform, stating, “This milestone is pivotal in achieving a fully open and adaptable retail model.”

Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian highlighted the increasing sophistication of airlines as retailers, pointing out the necessity for data-driven insights similar to those utilised by other consumer services.

Kurian stated, “Airlines require the same level of data-driven insight as other leading consumer service industries.”

This collaboration with Google Cloud not only reinforces SabreMosaic’s technological infrastructure but also its potential to provide airlines with unparalleled retailing intelligence.

SabreMosaic offers substantial implications for the airline sector by shifting the focus from passenger name record (PNR) systems to a more comprehensive offer-and-order framework.

This shift enables a customised and dynamic retailing ecosystem for airlines and their customers.

As a result, airlines can potentially increase customer satisfaction and achieve higher revenue streams through more effective retailing strategies.

SabreMosaic represents a significant advancement in the airline industry, promising increased innovation and revenue.

With its comprehensive capabilities, it sets a new standard for airline retail, ensuring adaptability and growth.
