CityJet, an Ireland-based airline, is offering a new service to Nuremberg in Germany, from London City Airport in the UK. The new service commences from January 27, 2013, with twice daily flights served by an Avro RJ 85 aircraft. The new route will compliment the airline’s introductory services to Munster-Osnabruck, commencing on October 29, 2012. The Global Business Travel Association (GBTA), a US-based company focusing on the business travel industry, is reporting that travel managers across the world are being given more control of the travel decisions of corporate companies. A survey of around 1,500 travel professionals worldwide revealed that around 60 percent of travel managers reported having more control over policy than previously. Around 64 percent of European travel managers reported an increase in control, far more than their counterparts in the rest of the world. An American author and educationalist has suggested that Prince Edward Island, a Canadian territory, could offer tourists a chance to swim with tunas. Carl Safina, a professor who teaches at Stony Brook University, said that the island could benefit financially if authorities offer tourists the chance to swim with tuna fish, which can reach up to 500 kilograms in weight. A study has highlighted some new facts regarding business travel trends in the US. While previous figures had indicated that following the slump in the financial markets, spending on business travel in the US had increased in 2010 and 2011, recent trends show that business travel spending is slowing down, and analysts feel that this could be due to apprehensions about the economy and its future prospects. This year, British travellers to the euro zone found their spending power had increased by 35 percent, according to the findings of a recent study. The study, which was carried out by My Travel Cash Prepaid Mastercard, claimed that British travellers had more than £350,000 extra to exchange this year, which equated to a 15 percent increase on the funds that were available to them last year.
