New research has unveiled the UK’s most in-demand travel destinations, with the West African island nation of Cape Verde taking the top spot. The study, conducted by Dubai Tours & Tickets, analysed Google search data over the past year, examining 250 countries and utilising seven key search terms such as “holidays,” “flights,” and “trips” to reveal the UK’s most popular destinations. Sicily is gearing up to welcome visitors aboard its historic trains once again, as the popular rail programme returns for its sixth year. Pegasus Airlines has unveiled a pioneering new feature, offering AI-generated in-flight announcements in multiple languages. The Turkish low-cost carrier has introduced the technology to improve the travel experience for its passengers, providing announcements in Spanish, Arabic, and Russian, in addition to English. Launched in October 2024, the new system has already been rolled out on flights to destinations where these languages are commonly spoken. British commuters are being urged to remain vigilant after a cyber-security attack targeted 19 major railway stations across the UK, including London Euston, Manchester Piccadilly, and Liverpool Lime Street. The hack, which took place last week, redirected rail passengers attempting to access station websites to a page displaying Islamophobic messages.
