On Friday February 11, Jet2 will operate flights to Rome, Krakow, and Prague from Newcastle Airport, marking the return of Jet2CityBreaks to a range of city break favourites. British Airways and Loganair have recently announced a major expansion of their codeshare agreement, offering more choice and connectivity for customers travelling across the UK. The expansion to 18 new routes will now give British Airways’ customers access to 38 of Loganair’s UK routes, allowing customers to book onward connections from destinations across the airline’s route network, or point to point travel in the UK more easily through British Airways’ website. British Airways has said that it will be introducing a new destination to its Heathrow short-haul network, Nuremberg, Bavaria’s second largest city after Munich. The airline plans to initially operate four flights per week on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays starting on the March 27, 2022, and then intends to increase the schedule to six per week starting from May 1, 2022 and four times a week in winter, from October 30, 2022 to March 25, 2023. easyJet, a UK-based budget airline, announced on February 1 that it is celebrating the 20-year anniversary of its base at London Gatwick airport. Jet2.com and Jet2CityBreaks have announced a series of trips and holidays to Iceland for Winter 22/23 from Newcastle International Airport. Jet2 will operate a series of dedicated flights and trips to Iceland, giving customers and independent travel agents more choice when it comes to seeing the spectacular Northern Lights, cityscape of Reykjavik, or the stunning Golden Circle and its geothermal lagoons, spas and waterfalls. Virgin Atlantic has announced the expansion of its portfolio of flights to the Caribbean as it relaunches its twice weekly services to Tobago. From January 29, the route will resume from London Heathrow to the island of Tobago, departing every Tuesday and Saturday. Vueling has announced its summer programme from Cardiff, increasing the number of flights to Paris to three per week, following positive news on the easing of travel restrictions between the UK and France. Virgin Atlantic has announced a new codeshare agreement with LATAM Airlines offering customers the opportunity to fly directly to the South American country of Brazil. British Airways is launching four new routes across Europe for the coming summer season. Operating from London City Airport, customers can now book to fly to Barcelona, Luxembourg, Milan and Thessaloniki – adding to BA CityFlyer’s network. Flights to all destinations will operate on BA CityFlyer’s Embraer E190 aircraft. Luxembourg and Milan will operate from March 27, every day of the week.
