Travel company Dream Holidays Limited has ceased trading with immediate effect. The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) says customers will be able to complete their holidays. The CAA estimates that around 525 people are currently overseas – all of them will be able to complete their holidays and return to the UK due to the CAA’s ATOL protection. Around 1,800 people with forward bookings with the company will be able to claim a full refund for their holidays from the CAA. Britain’s oldest roller coaster, the Scenic Railway at Dreamland, Margate, has had its listing upgraded to Grade II* on the advice of English Heritage. The Scenic Railway, which was built in 1920 by John Henry Iles for his new American-style amusement park, is the oldest surviving roller coaster in Britain and is among the five oldest in the world. Passengers using Heathrow and communities around the airport could benefit from reduced delays, less stacking and fewer unscheduled night flights at the UK’s busiest airport as part of a trial of new measures announced today by Aviation Minister Theresa Villiers.
