Miller to Play Instrumental Role on Marketing Team at Newly Renovated Resort, Supporting Position as Premier Leisure and Business Travel Destination

Sonesta Resort Hilton Head Island, an upscale resort set along the pristine South Carolina coast, today announced the appointment of Maggie Miller as sales and marketing coordinator. Miller is a skilled professional with expertise in event coordination, social media management and recreation marketing. In her new role, she will support the resort’s sales and marketing initiatives, crafting targeted digital marketing campaigns that promote the newly renovated resort and its offerings, with a special focus on events, resort packages and recreational activities.

Before joining the Sonesta Resort Hilton Head Island team, Miller served as the fitness and recreation event coordinator at nearby Sea Pines Resort, where she created strategic marketing campaigns to promote the resort’s offerings and oversaw the planning of both daily activities and large-scale seasonal events. Miller also worked as the wine tasting specialist at White Oak Lavender Farm in Harrisonburg, Virginia, where she managed trade show sales and oversaw product inventory, leading a team of five in delivering high-quality guest experiences to more than 500 customers daily. Another past role for Miller included serving as social media manager for the Woodstock RiverBandits baseball team, developing marketing plans and creating engaging content across all social media platforms.

Miller holds a bachelor’s degree in sport and recreation management with a minor in general business from James Madison University, as well as a marketing internship from the university’s athletics department. She further broadened her perspective through a study abroad program in Ngwa, Rwanda, gaining insights into diverse cultures.

The first phase of the resort’s multi-million-dollar renovation resulted in 340 beautifully updated and comfortably designed guestrooms. Inspired by the island’s natural beauty, all guestrooms received several stylish upgrades and now feature revitalized bathrooms, luxurious bedding, coastal-inspired furnishings and décor, flat-screen LCD televisions, custom hardwood finishes and more. The second phase of the extensive project – which is anticipated to be complete by May 2025 – will include the addition of a new hot tub and adult pool with private cabanas, a refreshed lobby bar, an expanded pool bar, a new poolside retail area and other exciting improvements to enhance the guest experience. Built toward the back of the sand dunes and surrounded by palmetto and palm trees, the resort embraces the Lowcountry essence of Hilton Head Island, with hammocks and firepits scattered throughout its 11-acre property. Located within the gated Shipyard community, the resort grants all guests exclusive membership access to Shipyard’s clubhouse, championship tennis courts and six world-class golf courses. Its central location allows guests to conveniently walk or bike to Hilton Head Island’s renowned dining scene, local shops and attractions. The resort is just 8.5 miles from Hilton Head Airport and 47 miles from Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport, making it easily accessible to travelers from near and far.
