Registration is now open for the CLIA Destination Showcase, set to be held in Porto this October.

Cruise industry professionals are invited to engage in a comprehensive programme designed to enhance destination sales through expert insights.

The Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) UK & Ireland is preparing to host its Destination Showcase event in Porto from 6-8 October. This exclusive gathering will feature expert sessions on ocean and river cruise destinations, a trade fair, and various networking opportunities. Attendees will have the chance to join local tours, further enriching their experience.

This showcase is designed to underscore the significance of destination knowledge in enhancing trade sales. By providing comprehensive insights into global destinations, the event aims to equip agents with the tools needed to meet growing consumer demand for immersive cruise experiences. Attendees will benefit from the expert panels and hands-on learning opportunities.

Delegates attending the showcase will be hosted on the Norwegian Prima, offering a unique opportunity to experience one of the latest ships in the industry. Additionally, visits to other notable ships such as the Seabourn Ovation and various river cruise vessels will be included, allowing for a diverse exploration of cruise offerings.

Andy Harmer, CLIA UK & Ireland MD, highlighted the unparalleled demand for destination exploration among cruisers. He stated, “Demand from cruisers to explore the destinations they visit has never been higher… so this immersive event is ideally timed to support agents who are looking for added insight.” Harmer underscored the range of experiences available, from bustling city centres to serene hideaways.

The event aims to empower agents by providing them with first-hand knowledge of Porto, a prominent cruise hub. Such knowledge is crucial for effectively marketing these destinations to clients. In April, CLIA reinforced its commitment to agents by introducing new trade-friendly features on its website, further supporting their efforts to cater to the dynamic cruise market.

Registration for the Destination Showcase costs £129 per person. Preferential hotel and flight rates via TAP Air Portugal will be announced soon, ensuring affordable access to this invaluable event. The investment in attending is justified by the extensive learning and networking opportunities provided.

The CLIA Destination Showcase in Porto promises to be an enriching experience for attendees, offering essential insights into destination knowledge and the tools needed to enhance their cruise offerings. This focus on immersive learning and networking is essential for adapting to the evolving demands of the cruise industry.

The Porto event stands as a crucial opportunity for cruise agents to gain essential knowledge and network with peers, offering enhanced value to clients.

Equipping agents with destination expertise ensures they are better prepared to meet the evolving demands of the cruise market.
