MSC Cruises Introduces Flexible ‘Open Booking’ Programme

MSC Cruises has taken a bold step in offering flexibility with the introduction of their ‘Open Booking’ programme.

This innovative initiative allows guests to secure future travel without the immediate need for detailed commitments.

    Introducing the Open Booking Programme

MSC Cruises has launched an innovative ‘Open Booking’ programme, crafted to enhance flexibility for their guests. This programme is tailored to suit the dynamic needs of modern travellers. By enabling reservations without the immediate necessity to fix a specific vessel, itinerary, or sailing date, it allows guests to plan their adventures at their own pace.

Guests are invited to secure their next cruise experience with a manageable deposit of £100 per person while aboard. This arrangement extends the luxury of choice by providing a certificate, offering up to 12 months to finalise the sailing decision. This initiative not only eases financial pressure but offers significant planning flexibility for seasoned and novice cruisers alike.

    Incentives and Benefits

A notable feature of the programme includes on board credit incentives. If guests decide on their ship and departure date within 60 days of making an open booking, they are entitled to up to £200 of on board credit per cabin. However, if they choose to extend their decision-making period up to one year, the credit remains a rewarding £100.

The flexibility of the Open Booking initiative isn’t limited to individual travellers. Those booking their voyage as a gift can also benefit from this programme. Whether for family or friends, the ability to postpone final decisions adds significant value to this offering.

    Benefits for Travel Agents

The programme also extends its rewards to travel agents, the key facilitators of these bookings.

Agents receive their full commission once the passengers select their ship and sail date. This ensures that agents maintain their role as pivotal partners in the cruising journey, motivated to assist travellers with their plans.

    Strategic Goals of MSC Cruises

Steve Williams, the director of sales at MSC Cruises UK & Ireland, shared insights about the strategic motivation behind this programme. He stated, “We want to offer our guests more flexibility in choosing their next ship and sailing date.” This programme is a direct response to contemporary demands for adaptability in holiday planning.

The initiative aligns with MSC Cruises’ overarching goals of improving customer satisfaction and loyalty.

By addressing modern travellers’ expectations of flexibility and personalised service, MSC Cruises strengthens its position as an industry innovator.

    Additional Initiatives

In addition to the Open Booking programme, MSC Cruises has augmented their ‘Big Cruise Giveaway’ with two additional winning scratch cards. This expansion increases the total number of seven-night cruise giveaways to 15, further incentivising engagement with the brand.

These efforts signal a continuous dedication to enhancing customer experience and engagement. By offering attractive incentives and flexible booking options, MSC Cruises not only caters to its current clientele but also attracts potential new customers.

    Long-Term Vision

The Open Booking programme is part of MSC Cruises’ long-term vision to foster a more adaptable, customer-centric approach to cruising.

This vision aims to integrate flexibility into all aspects of the cruising experience, acknowledging that travel dynamics continue to evolve.
