UK-based airline, British Airways, an official sponsor for Team GB and ParalympicsGB, has announced a new offer celebrating its sponsorship of the 2012 London Olympics and Paralympics Games.
The Go after the Games Sale prices are at a 25% discount on normal rates and are valid on travel to around 80 worldwide destinations, after September 10, 2012, to encourage travellers to take their annual summer holidays after the Games are completed. Included in the sale are also fares for the new destinations of Tokyo (Japan), Johannesburg (South Africa), Baltimore (US) and Las Vegas (US), the services to which commence on October 29, 2012.
London is hosting the 2012 Olympics Games from July 27, to August 12, 2012, followed by the 2012 Paralympic Games from August 29, to September 9, when around 500,000 additional passengers are expected to arrive at the country.
The airline also recently has announced that it has extended a service between London City Airport and Palma and Ibiza, in Spain, to a year-round service. The new service is being offered by the airline subsidiary, BA CityFlyer. The airline fares are inclusive of a 23kg luggage allowance, complimentary on-line check-in, seat selection 24 hours before departure, and complimentary food and drink onboard.
Luke Hayhoe, the general manager commercial, BA CityFlyer, said, ‘Leisure flying is a really important part of our business now from London City. Winter sun breaks are a very popular market and with London City’s unique 20 minute check-in time with luggage customers can leave the gloom of winter and be in the sun in less than three hours.’
