CityJet, an Ireland-based airline, is offering a new service to Nuremberg in Germany, from London City Airport in the UK.
The new service commences from January 27, 2013, with twice daily flights served by an Avro RJ 85 aircraft. The new route will compliment the airline’s introductory services to Munster-Osnabruck, commencing on October 29, 2012. The airline is offering return fares from London City Airport to Nuremberg for £109 and above.
Christine Ourmieres, the chief executive officer of CityJet, said, ‘Nuremberg is a key business hub in Europe given its position as the capital of Germany’s industrial heartland.
It is the head office location for many of Germany’s multi-nationals such as Siemens, Puma and Adidas and it plays host to several international trade fairs.
Taking its business and leisure credentials together, it was a clear cut decision for CityJet to launch a new year-round service to Nuremberg, further extending our network into Germany, following the launch of Munster-Osnabruck this Monday October 29th.’
Nuremberg, in Germany, plays host to several German trade fairs, which draw thousands of international visitors to the city every year. Around 120 exhibitions are held in the city year round, attracting around 30,000 exhibitors and one million visitors. Some of the most famous trade fairs held in this city are the Nuremberg International Toy Fair, and IT-SA, a famous software fair.
The new route to Nuremberg will expand CityJet’s operation to 20 European airports in Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and the UK.
The airline had previously launched its new OnAir music channel for passengers, offering a mix of tracks from modern European and US indie and pop artists, such as Bag Raiders, Jens Lekman, Bon Iver, Future Islands, and Arsenal. Visitors to its website, www.cityjet.com/music, and Facebook page can also listen to the channel. The airline is also offering a new CityJet playlist on all flights during boarding and disembarking.
