    Flybe commences 2016 summer schedule from Birmingham Airport

    Flybe, one of UK’s leading low-fares airlines, has commenced its 2016 summer schedule recently, offering a choice of nearly 430 flights per week to 30 destinations from Birmingham Airport, including six new routes to Limoges, Nantes, Rennes, Rotterdam, Luxembourg and Knock.

    The 2016 schedule sees the return of several French regional destinations that are popular with travellers from Birmingham, including Brest, Avignon, Bergerac, Bordeaux, Biarritz, La Rochelle and Bastia. While Knock is being reintroduced in the Flybe schedule this summer, Flybe’s new Rotterdam service will begin in September. Lyon, which is available for booking year-round, will continue to feature in the schedule.

    The airline has also increased frequency on several popular routes from Birmingham, including Dusseldorf, Milan and Hannover, among others.

    Flybe’s 2016 Summer Schedule from Birmingham, available for travel until Saturday October 29, 2016, features:

    * Six new summer routes: Limoges, Nantes, Rennes, Rotterdam, Luxembourg and Knock

    * Return of flights to Brest, Avignon, Bergerac, Bordeaux, Biarritz, La Rochelle, Bastia and Lyon

    * New Rotterdam route to start in September

    * Dusseldorf -Birmingham service increased to five flights per day

    * Birmingham to Milan route increased to 19 flights per week

    * Birmingham to Hannover route increased to two flights per day

    * Birmingham to Berlin-Tegel route increased to 11 flights per week

    * Birmingham to Stuttgart route increased to three flights per day

    * Birmingham to Amsterdam route increased to six flights per day

    * Birmingham to Knock route to operate six flights per week

    Commenting on the schedule, Vincent Hodder, Flybe’s Chief Revenue Officer, said: ‘Time saving, affordable, punctual travel to a wide choice of attractive destinations is what we will be delivering to our customers this summer. Many of the routes we will be operating are specifically scheduled to attract those looking for reasonably-priced, convenient day returns and short breaks, with Birmingham Airport providing a key UK hub for onward travel.’

    Birmingham Airport said that it registered a 13.6 percent year-on-year growth in passenger figures in March. As a total, 830,544 passengers travelled through the airport, compared to the 731,357 passengers that travelled through in March 2015.
