    Flybe launches new summer schedule

Flybe, the British low-fares regional airline, has launched its new summer schedule with nearly 300 flights a week from Southampton offering holidaymakers a break to some sought after destinations, according to a report by Daily Echo.

Flybe’s announcement comes after a busy summer last year when over 200,000 passengers passed through the airport’s doors in August – one of the highest passenger turnovers in the recent years and a three per cent increase year-on-year.

As per the announcement, Flybe will operate 27 routes this summer, which includes its popular summer routes as well as new services to Bastia – a ferry and cruise ship port located on the northern tip of the French island of Corsica – and Milan, one of Europe’s most ancient cities.

The airline will operate 299 flights a week with one way fares from £24.99 including taxes and charges. New twice weekly flights will be operated to Bastia on Thursdays and Sundays during peak summer from May until September. Twice weekly flights to Milan operate during those times on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

The airline will operate its popular sun routes to Palma, Mallorca, Faro, Malaga and Alicante until October 24. Flights to regional France have been improved with the peak summer travel expected to increase to destinations including Avignon, Bordeaux, Brest and Limoges.

Passengers also benefit on long haul travel under the airport’s arrangement with seven code-share partners via Dublin and Manchester airports. Passengers may benefit from onward connections to Asia, Canada and the US with the airline’s newest codeshare partners Cathay Pacific, Finnair and Aer Lingus. Flights are available for booking either directly from those airlines or through a local travel agent.
