Five Insider Tips to Save Big at Disneyland Paris

As the cost-of-living crisis continues to pinch budgets, savvy travellers are looking for ways to cut down on spending without compromising on magical experiences. Disneyland Paris, one of Europe’s most beloved theme parks, offers the chance to create unforgettable memories, but a visit can quickly become expensive. Fortunately, travel experts have shared five essential tips to help you save money during your next visit to Disneyland Paris.

    1. Say Goodbye to Expensive Bottled Water

Staying hydrated at Disneyland Paris is crucial, but purchasing bottled water at the park can add up fast. With a 50cl bottle priced at up to €4, families can spend a small fortune—up to €24 per person, per day—just on water. Instead, bring a reusable water bottle and take advantage of the park’s free water fountains, which are conveniently located throughout the site. The Disneyland Paris app provides a map of these fountains, ensuring you won’t have to hunt for hydration.

    2. Ditch the On-Site Hotels and Save Thousands

Accommodation at Disneyland Paris can be one of the biggest expenses, especially if you stay in the resort’s luxury hotels. For example, a two-night, three-day stay for a family of four at the Disney Hotel during peak times can cost as much as £3,683.60. However, opting for off-site hotels can lead to significant savings. Just five minutes from the park, Val d’Europe offers affordable alternatives, such as the Hotel l’Elysee Val d’Europe, where a similar stay can cost as little as £392.70, saving families thousands of pounds. Plus, with a direct train to the park, you’re never far from the magic.

    3. Beat the Crowds and Save by Visiting Off-Peak

Timing is everything when visiting Disneyland Paris, and going during peak times can drastically increase the cost. For example, on the weekend before Halloween, a family of four would pay €760 for park tickets. However, visiting on quieter days can save upwards of €204. During mid-week in early October, ticket prices for the same family drop to €556, and the park is significantly less crowded. Not only do you save money, but you’ll also spend less time queuing for your favourite rides.

    4. Plan Your Meals Ahead or Bring Groceries

Food is another major expense at Disneyland Paris, but there are ways to enjoy the park’s culinary delights without overspending. Booking a meal plan when staying at a Disney hotel can provide a set price for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, starting from €33 per child and €60 per adult per night. Alternatively, for those staying off-site or on a tight budget, consider ordering groceries via Amazon Fresh and having them delivered to your accommodation. Packing lunches and snacks can be a cost-effective way to fuel your day at the park.

    5. Pack Smart to Avoid Pricey On-Site Purchases

Holiday essentials can be expensive at theme parks, so it’s best to pack these items before you go. Stock up on toiletries, medications, snacks, and weather-appropriate clothing, such as ponchos or sunscreen. Bringing your own portable chargers, reusable water bottles, and basic first-aid supplies like tissues and hand sanitiser can also prevent you from spending extra once inside the park. Being well-prepared can save you from paying inflated prices for items you could easily have brought from home.
