How to Book a Ski Holiday on a Budget

A new Club Hotel in Zermatt with package prices starting at just GBP549 pp is just what was needed to fill a hole in the holiday types available in one of Switzerland’s most popular alpine resorts, reports Angus Kinloch, Managing director of the UK’s largest independent online ski holiday agent.

Zermatt is one of Switzerland’s best loved resorts, and with fantastic budget ski holidays from Skiline it is no longer simply for well heeled clients who opt for the luxury of the resort’s many 4 and 5* hotels. Many of the British skiers heading to Zermatt choose to stay in one of the increasing number of catered chalets that are now available, but even these can be expensive too with prices for an average non peak week costing around GBP700-800 per person for a chalet package deal with flights and transfers.

Now thanks to Skiline’s new Zermatt arrival, the Club Hotel Atlanta makes a great choice for skiers and snowboarders on a budget to try out this world class resort. Prices start at just GBP549 when deducting the early booking discounts. The average week cost is around GBP550 to low GBP700 for a week stay based on catered chalet board, and with flights from several UK airports it represents fantastic value for money.

Responding to warm reviews of the hotel on Trip Advisor, Angus Kinloch, Skiline’s Managing Director, notes, “It’s clear that the location is a winner with 2 of the 3 main lifts being easily reached on foot in a few minutes while its central village location is perfect for the night life. It’s the food that seems to have been the failing point so this is where we expect to see things improve under the new management at the hotel.”

Club Hotel Atlanta is a simple style hotel of around 3* standard; advantages of staying there are the price and the inspiring views of the famous Matterhorn peak. Not all of the bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms so early booking is recommended.

The package deal offers flights from Gatwick, Stanstead, Southampton, Exeter, Jersey, Bristol, Birmingham, East Midlands, Leeds Bradford, Isle of Man, Newcastle, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Belfast.

Transfers are included with a 2.5 hour coach journey plus 10 minutes via rail.

All meals on normal chalet board are included in the price, but it’s important to note that on one evening the chalet staff have a well earned night off so dining on this evening will be at your own expense. The meals included are hot and cold breakfast, afternoon freshly baked cakes, tea and coffee and finally a 5 course evening meal with a choice all served with unlimited wine and coffee.
