Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc has announced that it has launched a campaign to make travel agents aware of its portfolio of hotels and services.
The company said that its new resorts campaign has been designed to educate travel professionals on more than 200 resorts in its global portfolio. The campaign started this week and the company said that the opportunity could be used by travel agents to ‘Explore Destinations, Experience Luxury, Earn Rewards’ at www.starwoodpro.com.
To begin with, travel professionals are briefed with a visual, a four-minute video that focuses on the company’s resort portfolio. The video will also describe to agents the diverse customer profile that the company believes it can satisfy. Once the learning period is over, travel professionals will be entitled to earn a second night free when booking one resort night at the low STARPRO travel professional rate.
Chris Austin, vice president, global retail leisure and luxury sales for Starwood Hotels & Resorts, said, ‘Starwood’s robust resorts portfolio spans the globe and includes award-winning hotels in sought-after destinations where guests can enjoy a range of exceptional experiences including golf, spa, ski, romance, family vacations or island escapes. We want our partners in travel to understand all the options we provide their customers, and we want our travel professional partners to experience it for themselves. We hope to welcome thousands of travel professionals to our resorts in the coming year as a result of this promotion.’
The new Starwood Resorts module is available to view until October 14, 2012.
The company’s portfolio includes more than 200 properties in 52 countries. Sheraton is offering them under brands that include St. Regis, The Luxury Collection, W Hotels, Sheraton, Le Meridien, Westin and Four Points by Sheraton. The firm will allow travel professionals to access the new resort campaign by visiting www.starwoodpro.com and clicking on the promotional banner. The campaign is being offered in eight languages.
