Altrincham Central Travelodge is now open in Altrincham, Greater Manchester, England. The hotel is owned by Travelodge Hotels, Inc, a US-based company that owns and operates hotel properties, and is located in the mixed-use property, the Grafton Tower building, in Altrincham.
The new hotel has been constructed with an investment of £3.5m, and offers 69 rooms, with room rates commencing from £19 per night. The new hotel is expected to add around 17 new jobs in the neighbourhood.
Jonathan Hazeldine, the hotel manager said, ‘Not in my wildest dreams did I think I would one day be making history by opening the first Travelodge hotel in Altrincham especially in a landmark building.’
‘By attracting new visitors to the town by offering accommodation from £19, we will boost the local economy by over £1 million. As our research shows the average Travelodge customer will spend on average £36 a day in local shops, restaurants and bars during their stay.’
The company currently owns Travelodge Manchester Central Arena Hotel in the Greater Manchester area, as well as Travelodge Manchester Upper Brook Street Hotel in the same area, and expects to open another Travelodge hotel in Manchester City Centre
At the opening of the hotel, The Mayor of Trafford, Jane Baugh, said, ‘We are very pleased that Travelodge is opening in Altrincham which will mean that Trafford will benefit from extra hotel rooms and facilities, especially during such an exciting year for the borough. With Manchester Marathon, London 2012 Olympic Games, torch relay etc bringing many more visitors to the borough, all reinforcing Trafford’s reputation as a great place to visit, with lots of exciting activities and venues for old and young alike.’
