easyJet announces first route from London Luton to Cairo

easyJet is expanding its route network by introducing a new route from London Luton to Cairo, Egypt.

This will be the first time that easyJet operates flights to Cairo, adding it as the 157th destination on its short-haul network that covers Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East.

The new route will start operating on October 31, with flights departing three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. This will provide a direct connection for travellers from the UK to Cairo throughout the year.

Cairo is a renowned destination known for its historical and cultural attractions, including the Giza Pyramids, the Sphinx, the Nile River, palaces, mosques, museums, and vibrant shopping bazaars. This addition to easyJet’s Egyptian network complements their existing routes to popular beach destinations like Sharm-el-Sheikh and Hurghada, making Egypt an even more accessible and attractive option for UK travellers seeking sun, beaches, and coral reefs.

Wizz Air announces new route from London Luton To Cairo

European airline Wizz Air has announced the introduction of a fresh route from London Luton Airport to Cairo, Egypt, starting from October 30, 2023.

This new travel option opens up opportunities for UK travellers, connecting them to Sphinx International Airport in Cairo. From there, they can explore the captivating city of Giza, known for its historic significance with landmarks like the Great Pyramid and The Great Sphinx, both dating back to ancient times.

Cairo, a dynamic modern city steeped in history and situated along the iconic Nile River, offers a mix of contemporary living and traditional culture, featuring local music, delectable cuisine, and scenic river tours.

The new flights will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, catering to a range of schedules, with fares starting from £53.99 for a one-way trip. Travelers can benefit from Wizz Air’s WIZZ Flex feature, which allows them to cancel flights up to three hours before departure without incurring any fees and receive a full fare refund in the form of airline credit.

Fairmont Hotels and Resorts, a Canada-based hotel company, has announced a new offer for its loyalty programme members visiting the Middle East.

The company is offering a $25 hotel credit to all Fairmont President’s Club loyalty programme members that stay at any of its hotels in the Middle East. The hotel credit may be used at any of the onsite restaurants, at properties including the Fairmont Dubai Hotel, Dubai; Fairmont Bab al Bahr, Abu Dhabi; Fairmont Nile City, Cairo; Fairmont Heliopolis and Towers, Cairo; and Makkah Clock Royal Tower, a Fairmont Hotel in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. The promotional hotel credits are available on every stay booked at these properties until December 31, 2012, and are for loyalty programme members only.

In Abu Dhabi, the hotel credits may be redeemed at Frankie’s Italian Restaurant and Bar, or the Marco Pierre White Steakhouse and Grill at Fairmont Bab al Bahr; in Dubai at the Spectrum on One restaurant in the Fairmont Dubai; and at Baharat, the Lebanese-inspired Al Dar, and the rooftop Al Dira restaurant at the Makkah Clock Royal Tower Hotel in Makkah.
