    Explora Journeys Appreciates UK Market’s Exceptional Support

    Explora Journeys has acknowledged the remarkable support it has received from the UK market, a key player in its expanding operations.

    The recent naming ceremony of Explora II highlighted the UK’s vital contribution, marking a significant milestone for the cruise line.

    Acknowledgement of UK Market Contributions

    Explora Journeys recently praised the unwavering support from the UK market, which has been instrumental in its growth. The company’s second ship, Explora II, was officially launched at a ceremonial event attended by industry leaders, highlighting the UK’s significant contribution.

    Antonio Paradiso, the international sales vice-president of MSC Group’s cruise division, expressed gratitude towards the UK trade, emphasising its pivotal role in driving impressive sales figures. Paradiso remarked, “Travel advisors have been supporting us since day one. We’re doing particularly well.”

    Explora II Naming Ceremony

    The naming ceremony for Explora II took place in Civitavecchia, Italy, a significant event for the company. Esteemed travel advisors from the UK were invited, further solidifying the bond between the UK market and Explora Journeys.

    The invitees, including seven agents and three tour operators, witnessed the grandeur of the event. The ceremony marked a landmark moment as it celebrated the success and future prospects of the cruise line.

    Priti Mehta, UK and Ireland head of sales, highlighted the forthcoming familiarisation trips. She noted, “We align ourselves with renowned hotel brands to ensure an exceptional experience for our clients.”

    Expanding Market Reach and Future Plans

    Explora Journeys is keen on expanding market reach, with the UK accounting for approximately 20% of sales. This market is second only to the US, showcasing the brand’s growing influence.

    The company has conducted numerous familiarisation trips, taking over 300 UK and Ireland agents onboard. This initiative aims to deepen relationships and enhance understanding of its offerings.

    The company is planning future trips with ambitions to tap into luxury markets, aligning with hotel giants like Four Seasons and Aman Resorts.

    Vessel Features and Routes

    The new ship, Explora II, boasts 461 suites, penthouses, and residences, offering guests a luxurious experience at sea. It features six restaurants and four pools, comparable to top-tier hospitality standards.

    Explora II embarked on a seven-night maiden voyage through the Mediterranean, visiting picturesque locations such as Sorrento and Valletta, attracting both new and seasoned travellers.

    Leveraging two ships, Explora Journeys plans to cover disparate global regions, positioning itself strongly within the cruise industry, with particular emphasis on the European market.

    Trade and Market Observations

    Industry feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. Dame Irene Hays of Hays Travel remarked on subtle yet effective changes in Explora II, praising its relaxed and sophisticated ambiance.

    Kent Milne, chair of Select World Travel, applauded the multi-generational appeal and inclusive events for singles and LGBTQ passengers, deeming Explora a symbol of luxury.

    Feedback from industry leaders indicates that Explora Journeys is successfully captivating a new generation of luxury seekers, revolutionising traditional cruise experiences.

    Cruise Line’s Innovative Approach

    Priti Mehta has been credited with driving sales achievements in the UK and Ireland, contributing significantly to the brand’s strong market presence.

    Alexander Loizou from Mundy Cruising and Alexandra Coutts from Scott Dunn echoed positive sentiments, underlining the ship’s superior guest accommodation and public spaces.
