Hubby Seeks €2-€3 Million Investment to Accelerate Growth

Amsterdam’s Hubby is seeking an investment of €2 million to €3 million, entering advanced investor discussions.

As Hubby nears the completion of its second operational year, it aims to secure substantial funding to boost its market presence and operational capabilities.

    Advanced Discussions for Growth

Hubby, an Amsterdam-based eSIM provider, is in advanced discussions with potential investors to secure a funding round worth between €2 million and €3 million. This strategic initiative comes as the company approaches the end of its second full year in the market. The CEO announced that additional details will soon be shared, reflecting a pivotal moment in the company’s growth trajectory.

    Company Background and Vision

Since its launch in December 2022, Hubby has positioned itself as a leader in offering eSIMs, specifically designed to enhance experiences for travellers through a B2B2C model. The firm has attracted funding of €450,000 from personal connections in its initial phases, which has significantly supported its foundation and expansion.

Hubby facilitates travel agents and tour operators by allowing them to provide eSIMs as a value-added service for clients travelling abroad. This approach has enabled Hubby to distribute over 175,000 eSIMs, with anticipated revenue reaching approximately €750,000 by the year’s end.

    Strategic Approach and Market Impact

Hubby’s strategy focuses on employing eSIMs as an auxiliary service provided by travel partners, rather than targeting end consumers directly. This approach fosters cross-selling opportunities, enhancing customer experiences and benefits for travel providers.

CEO Thijs van de Wijk articulates this strategy, stating, “Selling eSIMs as an ancillary on commission to consumers was on its way out. The best way to distribute them was as a value-add through travel providers and partners.”

Reports have indicated increased bottom lines and improved Net Promoter Scores from partners using the eSIM service. This success has generated global interest, with enquiries from various international markets seeking to adopt similar models.

    Future Expansion Plans

With a growing interest from international markets, Hubby plans to expand its team and announce new strategic partnerships. This expansion aims to solidify its presence globally, leveraging these partnerships to penetrate new markets effectively.

The company is committed to broadening its reach, further establishing itself as a front-runner in eSIM provisioning.

    Market Reception

The reception of Hubby’s offerings has been overwhelmingly positive, with partners praising the value added by the eSIM services to their customer base.

As word spreads about its innovative approach, the company continues to attract attention from major players in the travel and technology sectors.

This acknowledgment is evidenced by Hubby joining industry associations, such as Atas, to further promote its solutions and engage with a wider audience.

    CEO Remarks and Future Announcements

Thijs van de Wijk, Hubby’s CEO, emphasised appreciation towards partners supporting their journey, recognising them as essential to their success. “We are grateful for our B2B2C partners who entrusted us to provide top-notch internet solutions for travellers,” he stated.

The company is poised for significant announcements on partnerships and expansions, signifying a bold step toward its goal of global market leadership.

    Key Differentiators

Hubby distinguishes itself by offering a low-cost, high-impact product that enhances the travel experience for just a few euros. This approach directly benefits clients, providing them with seamless internet connectivity worldwide.
