    Swan Hellenic introduces a new dimension to its Mediterranean voyages with four compelling cultural expedition cruises in 2024.

    Introduction to Cultural Expedition Cruises

    Swan Hellenic has enriched its 2024 Mediterranean programme by introducing four new cultural expedition cruises. These voyages, ranging from eight to eleven nights, invite travellers aboard the SH Diana, the largest vessel in the fleet. Passengers will have the opportunity to explore diverse cultural landscapes while enjoying sustainable and luxurious travel experiences.

    The first of these sailings, the Secrets of Sicily cruise, departs from Palermo on 20 August. It offers an eight-night circumnavigation of Sicily, calling at notable destinations such as Trapani, Mazara del Vallo, Porto Empedocle, Siracusa, Naxos, Lipari, and concludes in Valetta, Malta. This cruise encapsulates the essence of Sicilian culture and history.

    Following this, the SH Diana embarks on another eight-night journey from Palermo with the From Magna Graecia to Greece itinerary, departing on 28 August. This voyage offers a unique blend of Italian and Greek cultural experiences, stopping at Lipari, Crotone, Ontranto in Italy, and Sarande in Albania, as well as Naxos, Preveza, Itea, and Piraeus in Greece.

    Engagement with Cultural and Scientific Themes

    An exciting collaboration with the Seti Institute is featured on the From Magna Graecia to Greece cruise. Notable planetary astronomer Mark Showalter will be onboard to deliver up to three engaging talks.

    On 5 September, the Colours of the Eastern Mediterranean cruise departs Piraeus for an eleven-night exploration. It also includes Kusadasi in Turkey and concludes in Istanbul, offering a blend of Greek and Turkish cultural experiences.

    The Eastern Mediterranean is steeped in history and rich in diverse cultures, making this cruise particularly appealing to those interested in historical exploration.

    This route showcases the varied tapestry of Eastern Mediterranean cultures and histories.
