Agents are being urged to capitalise on the Olympics’ impact on France’s tourism.

    • AmaWaterways offers incentives to agents booking French river cruises during the Games.
    • Bookings in this period enter agents into a draw for cruises, wine, and vouchers.
    • The top booking agency will receive a celebratory event worth £250.
    • AmaWaterways is also providing training and webinars to boost sales and awareness.

Agents are encouraged to leverage the increased global focus on France during the Olympics to boost French river cruise bookings. With millions watching live streams across France, the nation will be prominently in the public eye.

AmaWaterways is incentivising agents by offering entry into a draw for those booking any French itinerary during the Olympic and Paralympic Games from 26th July to 8th September. The incentives include a chance to win a European cruise, a case of French wine, and a £50 voucher.

Furthermore, the travel agency with the highest number of French river cruise bookings within the promotional period will be awarded a celebratory evening valued at up to £250. Announcements of the winners are planned for 13th September through the company’s trade Facebook page.

AmaWaterways has organised dedicated training sessions with its business development managers and a France-themed webinar scheduled for 25th July. These initiatives aim to prepare agents to maximise their sales potential during this period.

Sales Director Andrea Stafford highlighted the diverse locations hosting Olympic events, including Paris, Bordeaux, Marseille, and Lyon, emphasising the broader national exposure. Stafford stated, “The agent community has a great opportunity to capitalise on France’s high profile and not only earn themselves commission but win prizes too.”

AmaWaterways operates seven itineraries in France, offering travellers a more in-depth and immersive experience of the country’s rich culture and landscapes. These cruises feature timeless vineyards, iconic chateaux, and captivating countryside and cities. Additionally, the strong rail connections make these itineraries an attractive flight-free option for clients.

In Stafford’s perspective, the growing demand for slow-paced, culturally immersive river cruises aligns with the unique offerings available in France, making it a prime destination for tourists seeking deeper exploration.

Leveraging the Olympics is a strategic move for agents to enhance their offerings and secure lucrative rewards.
