Celestyal has adjusted its inaugural Arabian Gulf itineraries in response to the geopolitical climate and major event scheduling.
- The original 14-night repositioning cruises have been cancelled in light of current affairs, replaced with longer non-commercial routes.
- Desert Days itineraries from Doha, scheduled in November 2025, are also affected by these changes.
- Modifications accommodate for the Qatar Grand Prix and Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in the revised sailing plans.
- Celestyal assures all travel partners and guests of full support and rebooking options amid these strategic changes.
Celestyal Cruises has undertaken strategic itinerary adjustments for its debut Arabian Gulf season, aligning with the region’s geopolitical climate and high-profile events. The initial itineraries for the Celestyal Journey have been revised, notably cancelling the two 14-night repositioning voyages initially planned from Ancient Athens to Dazzling Doha and in reverse. These were scheduled to set sail later this year and early next year. In their place, Celestyal will operate longer routes that avoid commercial passage, accommodating geopolitical concerns.
In addition to the repositioning cruises, three Desert Days itineraries scheduled to depart Doha in November 2025 have also been cancelled. This move aligns with Celestyal’s broader strategy to adapt to the dynamic regional circumstances and ensures that the Celestyal Journey can navigate effectively while prioritising passenger safety and experience.
The adjustments further incorporate plans around the Qatar Grand Prix. A revised seven-night Desert Days & Qatar Grand Prix cruise will originate from Doha, covering the Qatar Grand Prix before heading to other strategic stops including Dubai and Abu Dhabi. This is a significant alteration aiming to capture the excitement of the grand racing event and enhance guest experience during the season.
A subsequent alteration for a seven-night Desert Days & Abu Dhabi Grand Prix cruise departing from Dubai also reflects strategic timing with the Abu Dhabi event, ensuring passengers have an immersive race experience. The itinerary will now spend a full day and late-night stay in Abu Dhabi.
In response to these changes, all travel partners have been apprised and provided with updated guest rebooking options, emphasising Celestyal’s commitment to its clientele and partners. Chief Commercial Officer Lee Haslett reassured that while some itineraries stand cancelled, the company guarantees guest options for alternative cruises and reimbursements. “We remain steadfast in our commitment to our global year-round operation,” Haslett confirmed, underscoring Celestyal’s focus on its operational priorities in the region.
Celestyal remains committed to navigating geopolitical challenges and delivering enriching experiences in the Arabian Gulf.
