Personal Travel Consultants has seen its team of self-employed agents grow to a total of 55, with 15 new recruits joining its ranks. These new agents, bringing their wealth of experience from homeworking companies and high street roles, reflect a significant demand for flexible work environments and higher income potential.
In an impressive development, late bookings for the summer season accounted for 50% of all sales in the last quarter, compared to 44% during the same period last year. This indicates a growing consumer trend towards more spontaneous travel decisions, contributing to the company’s robust sales figures.
PTCs claimed a 42% year-on-year increase in sales for the first half of 2024. Although specific figures were not disclosed, demand for luxury short-haul destinations has notably increased. Customers are spending an average of over £6,000 for trips to Turkey and over £4,000 for the Canary Islands, which are figures traditionally linked with long-haul travel.
In addition to perennial favourites like Turkey, the Maldives and Mexico are increasingly popular, as customers continue to seek premium, bucket-list destinations.
Furthermore, PTCs have effectively utilised customer leads provided by Blue Bay Travel, resulting in a substantial 67% annual increase in sales through self-generated leads via social media marketing efforts. The average booking from these leads brings a booking value of £4,399 so far in 2024, compared to £3,000 in the previous year.
Group manager Abbie Heaton credited these impressive results to the dedication and transformative efforts of their Personal Travel Consultants, remarking on the financial success that agents have achieved through the strong personal relationships developed with clients. She emphasised the importance of nurturing a team of high-calibre agents to sustain long-term commitment and growth.
The growth and success of Personal Travel Consultants highlight the effective strategies in place and the significant demand for flexible, high-calibre travel services.
