Travel Counsellors releases ‘Journeys with Care’ to promote sustainable travel.

    • The campaign is aligned with World Earth Day, focusing on educating the community.
    • A digital brochure highlights sustainable travel practices with five themed chapters.
    • Sustainability education and certification initiatives further enhance the campaign.
    • The initiative responds to a growing demand for sustainable travel options.

Travel Counsellors has launched ‘Journeys with Care’, the latest edition of its Responsible Travel campaign, timed strategically to coincide with World Earth Day on April 22. This initiative underscores the company’s commitment to promoting sustainable travel and aims at educating both their community and their customers about responsible travel practices.

The heart of the campaign is a digital brochure that offers an engaging look into sustainable travel practices. It is organised into five distinctive chapters—Adventure, Beach, Couples, Cruise, and Family—all of which showcase hotel sustainability initiatives, and highlight hotels which have earned the Green leaf-label, a marker of sustainability excellence.

The comprehensive campaign also incorporates a suite of marketing materials designed to spread the message effectively. This includes dedicated emails, electronic cards, and social media assets, alongside a detailed training guide for travel agents, ensuring that the message of sustainability reaches far and wide.

The campaign builds upon Travel Counsellors’ aim to find ‘Sustainability Champions’ within the organisation. Selected agents have proposed innovative sustainable itineraries and are now enrolled in the Global Sustainable Tourism Council’s Sustainable Tourism Course, earning them a GSTC Professional Certificate. This not only equips them with the necessary expertise but also reinforces the company’s commitment to sustainability at every level.

Joe Whittle, the sustainability and impact lead at Travel Counsellors, expressed the essence of the campaign succinctly: ‘Travel Counsellors’ latest Responsible Travel campaign represents a change in the way we look at sustainability in travel as we aim to engage a broader set of people by showing them how making more responsible switches can actually add to their experience.’ His statement reinforces the company’s ongoing commitment to foster a sustainable future in the travel industry.

Survey data from Travel Counsellors reveals a growing interest among travellers in sustainable options, with more than 54% of respondents expressing a desire for more eco-conscious travel offerings.

The ‘Journeys with Care’ campaign marks a significant stride towards sustainable travel, reflecting both industry trends and customer expectations.
