    The Spanish Tourist Office in the UK has initiated an advisory panel focused on accessibility, marking a significant step towards inclusive travel solutions. This panel series is dedicated to reshaping perceptions and offering practical resolutions to accessibility challenges, demonstrating a forward-thinking approach by one of the world’s top travel destinations.

    Prominent TV personality and former wheelchair basketball athlete Ade Adepitan brings his expertise and personal experiences as a wheelchair user to the panel. As a ‘Spain for All’ ambassador, Adepitan provides valuable consultancy and endorses the Spanish Tourist Office’s campaign towards universal accessibility. His involvement underscores the importance of lived experience in shaping accessible travel strategies.

    The panel session is led by Angus Drummond, founder of Limitless Travel, who transitioned from investment banking to promoting inclusive travel after his own diagnosis of muscular dystrophy. Drummond’s leadership of the session set a tone focused on pragmatism and optimism, aligning with the panel’s mission to transform accessibility challenges into actionable solutions.

    Key figures including Manuel Butler, the Spanish Tourist Office’s UK director, emphasised the value of insights from accessibility experts and individuals with lived disabilities. Butler stated, “It was fantastic to hear from a range of accessibility experts and people with lived experiences of disability in order to guide the Spanish Tourist Office’s accessibility strategy.” The panel’s diverse expertise highlights Spain’s dedication to not only meet but exceed accessibility standards.
