In a move to enhance the expertise of its agents, Designer Travel has launched an innovative in-house database, aptly named the ‘Fab Bank’.

This development promises to revolutionise how travel recommendations are shared and utilized within the company, storing a wealth of insider tips and details that elevate their agents as genuine travel connoisseurs.

    Unveiling the Fab Bank

Designer Travel, as part of its continual growth strategy, has introduced the ‘Fab Bank’ – a dynamic database curated with exclusive travel tips sourced from their very own team of experts. This tool, showcased at their annual conference, stands as a testament to the company’s commitment to superior service.

Held at the picturesque Ikos Andalusia in Spain, the conference gathered 90 of its 140 agents, creating a collaborative environment for sharing insights and defining future goals. Attendees were enthused over the capabilities of this system, which has been meticulously developed over the past year.

    A Repository of Exclusive Tips

The Fab Bank allows agents to input a variety of information from restaurant recommendations to the nature of local transport, offering a depth and breadth of knowledge usually inaccessible through conventional travel guides.

What sets this system apart is its ability to store nuanced details – such as unique room features or season-specific activities – that are often overlooked by standard itineraries. The emphasis is on capturing insights that can significantly change a customer’s travel experience.

    Incentives and Expertise

Over the next year, Designer Travel has plans to incentivise its agents to fill this database with unique insights, ensuring the knowledge bank remains fresh and relevant.

Amanda Matthews, Managing Director of Designer Travel, emphasized, “This initiative will distinguish our agents as true professionals who provide more than just service but also personal expertise. We are thrilled to see the excitement this has generated among our travel experts.”

These efforts are particularly pertinent as new recruits entering the industry claim expertise but often lack the depth of experience found in seasoned professionals. Building this repository ensures that all team members can offer the same high level of service.

    Harnessing Technology for Efficiency

Incorporating this database into daily operations promises not only to enrich client interactions but also to enhance operational efficiency. Creating fact sheets and tailored travel plans will become more streamlined as the database grows.

Matthews remarked on the time-saving potential of the system, “This development allows our professionals to shine, cutting down on time spent collating information while still delivering quality service.”

    Ensuring Current and Accurate Data

Maintaining the relevance of content is a priority, with all information being date-registered and updated regularly to ensure accuracy.

The system includes not just text-based entries but multimedia elements as well, such as images and maps, offering a holistic view of destinations.

    Professional Travel Experts

As part of this initiative, Designer Travel’s homeworking team will now adopt the title ‘Professional Travel Experts’. This rebranding aligns with their commitment to delivering trusted and insightful travel advice.

The group has also planned its 2025 conference in Abu Dhabi, marking another exciting chapter in the company’s journey.

    A Strategic Vision

The FAB Bank signifies Designer Travel’s strategic vision to solidify its position in the industry as a leader in personalised travel advice.
