Oceania Cruises Elevates Ultra-Premium Cruise Experience with Enhanced Amenities Package

Oceania Cruises is set to redefine the ultra-premium cruise experience with the introduction of its new amenities package. Starting from October 2024, the cruise line will incorporate a comprehensive array of benefits into its pricing structure, offering significant value to its passengers.

This marks a significant evolution from the previous ‘Simply More’ programme, featuring a range of enhanced amenities that will streamline the cruising experience. From improved dining options to unlimited Wi-Fi, these changes are designed to cater to the discerning tastes of their clientele.

Introduction of the ‘Your World Included’ Programme

Oceania Cruises will include more amenities for all passengers booking worldwide from October 2024. The ‘Your World Included’ value promise is set to replace the ‘Simply More’ programme, which was only introduced last year.

This new package includes gratuities, unlimited Starlink Wi-Fi, dining at all gourmet specialty restaurants, in-room dining, non-alcoholic beverages, group fitness classes, and laundry services.

These offerings will be applicable to all new bookings from October 1, 2024, for sailings departing on or after January 1, 2025, providing an average of $1,800 in amenities per stateroom based on a 10-day cruise.

    Guest-Centric Motivations

Nikki Upshaw, Senior Vice-President for Global Sales at Oceania Cruises, stated that the overhaul was driven by feedback from guests, agents, and staff. ‘These inclusions will now be embedded in your price across all regions, categories, and sailings,’ she explained.

Upshaw further elaborated that the new inclusions serve to simplify both the sales and marketing processes of Oceania Cruises. ‘This helps us redefine the ultra-premium category,’ she added.

Enhanced Value for Agents and Customers Alike

From the trade sales perspective, this innovation is expected to simplify the sales process, making it easier for travel agents to promote Oceania Cruises.

Upshaw explained that the package should appeal to both seasoned cruisers and those new to the cruising experience, making the offering versatile and attractive.

‘At first glance, Oceania’s prices might seem higher compared to premium cruise lines, but many additional costs are covered upfront,’ she said.

    Fleet-Wide Enhancements

All ships in the Oceania fleet will be equipped with Starlink Wi-Fi by November 2024. The improved non-alcoholic beverages package includes an assortment of options such as soft drinks, juices, specialty coffees, teas, still and sparkling Vero Water, fruit smoothies, gelato, and artisan ice cream.

According to Upshaw, these inclusions present a tremendous value compared to other premium lines that typically charge extra for similar amenities.

    Redefining Market Position

Oceania Cruises aims to solidify its place in the ultra-premium segment by offering a sophisticated yet approachable experience. Upshaw indicated this updated package forms a stepping stone for avid cruisers who might not be inclined towards the ultra-luxury category yet.

The smaller ship size combined with the new inclusions is anticipated to offer significant appeal to a discerning clientele.

Travel agents can further customize their clients’ holidays with additional options, such as excursions, beverage packages, air travel, and pre- or post-cruise land packages.

    Seamless Transition for Existing Bookings

For existing bookings departing after January 1, 2025, passengers can switch to the new programme without any penalties.

Upshaw confirmed that any existing booking will remain intact unless passengers choose to switch to the ‘Your World Included’ programme.

‘If guests decide to move to the new programme, it will be at the prevailing rate,’ she advised. ‘However, the three-month introductory period will see prices remain stable globally.’

    Implications for Future Pricing

Typically, Oceania re-assesses prices on a quarterly basis. From October 1, 2024, these prices will remain stable globally, though some regional variations may occur.

Upshaw revealed that despite the comprehensive new amenities package, the cruise line has opted to maintain its current pricing as an introductory gesture.

Passengers and agents are encouraged to review these packages as they book new voyages, ensuring they leverage the full range of included amenities at the most favourable rates.

Oceania Cruises’ newly introduced amenities package represents a significant enhancement in the ultra-premium cruising experience. With comprehensive inclusions aimed at elevating both value and convenience, the cruise line is poised to attract a discerning clientele.

The initiative reflects Oceania’s commitment to evolving its market presence while fostering stronger relationships with both passengers and travel agents. This bold move is expected to set a new benchmark in the industry, reinforcing Oceania Cruises’ reputation for excellence.
