Virgin Voyages recently conducted an engaging training session tailored for Travel Counsellors. The interactive day featured a variety of informative activities.

This initiative takes place amid a notable 37% increase in cruise bookings by Travel Counsellors compared to the previous year, underscoring the growing interest in cruise travel.

    Event Overview

Virgin Voyages’ sales team facilitated a ‘drop in’ training day for 30 Travel Counsellors agents at their Manchester office. The event was designed to provide comprehensive insights into Virgin Voyages’ offerings.

Agents participated in a virtual tour through Virgin Voyages’ bespoke booking platform. This immersive experience was aimed at enhancing their understanding and ability to navigate the platform efficiently.

    Significance of the Event

The training was organised against the backdrop of a significant 37% year-on-year increase in cruise sales among Travel Counsellors, highlighting the growing demand for cruise travel. This surge in bookings reflects the heightened interest and confidence in cruising as a preferred mode of travel.

Travel Counsellors Head of Cruise, Janet Whittingham, remarked, “It was wonderful to welcome our valued supplier partner Virgin Voyages and showcase the various highlights our customers can enjoy on board. The drop-in format allowed our agents to gain valuable insights while continuing to support their clients during peak times.”

    Interactive Learning Experience

The training day featured an array of activities designed to provide both new and experienced agents with essential knowledge.

Virgin Voyages UK Sales Manager, Jack Atherton, expressed, “We were delighted to host our dedicated office takeover with Travel Counsellors. It was great to interact with both newcomers and seasoned professionals who have grown to love our offerings.”

This ongoing effort underscores Virgin Voyages’ commitment to strengthening its partnership with Travel Counsellors and enhancing the knowledge base of their agents throughout 2024.

    Participant Feedback

Travel Counsellors agents who attended the training day reported a highly positive experience, appreciating the in-depth and interactive nature of the sessions.

Agents highlighted the virtual tour as particularly beneficial, offering a realistic and detailed view of the booking platform. This hands-on approach was seen as instrumental in boosting their confidence and capabilities.

    Strategic Objectives

Virgin Voyages aims to leverage these training days to build stronger relationships with travel agents and enhance their overall proficiency in selling cruise packages.

By providing these targeted learning experiences, Virgin Voyages seeks to ensure that Travel Counsellors are well-equipped to meet the evolving needs of their clients.

    Implications for the Future
