easyJet, the Official Airline Partner of the Eurovision Song Contest, is joining over six million Brits in hosting Eurovision parties this week.

With the competition set to kick off in Malmo, Sweden, easyJet is flying the flag for UK Eurovision enthusiasm.

The airline will transport 40,000 visitors from across Europe to Copenhagen airport for this year’s contest, operating over 10 percent more seats to and from Copenhagen compared to last year. This provides quick, direct access to Malmo, Sweden, where the Eurovision Song Contest will take place on May 9 (Second Semi-Final), and May 11 (Grand Final), 2024.

According to a recent poll by easyJet, 35% of UK adults will be tuning into the singing contest, with 36 percent either hosting their own parties or celebrating elsewhere – totalling a whopping 6.5 million party hosts.

To mark Eurovision, easyJet organized a celebration in the skies. Sequin-clad Eurovision fans took to the air, donning their best Eurovision costumes on a special flight from London Gatwick to Copenhagen Airport. The flight featured themed baggage drops, fancy dress, and a talent show at 40,000 feet, hosted by Drag Race star Tia Kofi.

According to the poll, the most popular costumes for Eurovision parties this year include D’Nash (Spain 2007), Brotherhood of Man (UK 1976), and Jedward’s famous stage outfits from their 2021 entry for Ireland.

Italy, Greece, and Spain topped the list of countries Brits said the Eurovision competition has inspired them to visit, with over a quarter (27 percent) considering visiting a new country because of Eurovision.

Michael Brown, Director of Cabin Services at easyJet, added: ‘easyJet is proud to be part of the Eurovision phenomenon, providing a glittering platform for fans to start their Eurovision journey. Our Super Fan Flight to Copenhagen promises to be a memorable adventure – a high-flying act of its own. Our mission is to connect people and cultures together, and we’re proud to be the Official Airline of the Eurovision Song Contest who share this passion.’
