A new study has shown that Eurail Passes still remain hot favourites with travellers wanting to travel across Europe on a budget.
The Eurail passes, a product of the Eurail Group, a Netherlands-based company that sells passes and tickets for European railroads, offers travellers a popular mode of transport for exploring the culture, cities and architecture of European destinations, even in this modern age of cheap, no-frills flights.
In the study conducted by market research company, Infosurv.com, around 70 percent of Eurail Pass customers reported being satisfied or very satisfied with their rail experiences, and would recommend Eurail Pass journeys to others. The survey has also highlighted that 63 percent of the travellers have identified rail travel as their most regular method of transportation in Europe, only slightly less than the 66 percent of travellers who voted for air travel.
Of those who choose to travel around Europe by train, around 80 percent have acknowledged their interest in Europe’s history and architecture as having helped in their decision making process; although 51 percent have cited diverse cuisine as their main attraction. While 48 percent were motivated by arts and culture in Europe; 44 percent wanted a taste of Europe’s scenic beauty from their train travels.
Ana Dias e Seixas, the marketing director for Eurail Group, said, ‘Eurail’s success can be attributed to the fact that a single Eurail Pass trip makes it possible to experience all of the latter in multiple European countries in just one trip.
We are delighted the research suggests that the popularity of European rail travel is steadily increasing, which gives the Eurail Group even more incentive and enthusiasm to maintain strong Eurail Pass product awareness throughout the global market. After all, the Eurail Pass is still the best way to see Europe.’
