Roving reporter and travel writer Alejandra Simiz reports from down town Hanoi, Vietnam.
On my most recent assignment I decided to take a few days off in Hanoi as it had been several years since I was last here and wanted to see what impact tourism in general had made on the Vietnamese culture.
To my surprise, what I did find was that good budget, cheap, affordable and clean accommodation was becoming scarce until I found the Hanoi Spark Hotel.
Hanoi Spark Hotel recently opened on the 26th February 2011, is right in the middle of the main tourist areas, boutiques, superb restaurants, street side stalls and markets. The hustle and bustle is contagious. (The Hanoi Spark Hotel is only minutes walk from Hoam Kiem Lake).
I managed to get a really clean and comfortable room at the Hanoi Spark Hotel, I decided to “chill out” for an extra few weeks and make this my base and soak in the culture.
I got to know the lovely and friendly staff really well and managed to have several discussions with Mr. Kenny Trinh the General Manager.
I asked Kenny what he thought the long term plans where for his small boutique hotel of twenty rooms (20) rooms was. He went onto say that his main was to please to offer “cheap clean affordable budget accommodation” he went onto say “That the need for budget Hotel accommodation in Hanoi is increasing daily as Hanoi increasingly becomes a major contender for the Tourist Dollar in Asia. For the travel weary tourist The Hanoi Spark Hotel aims to satisfy that market niche. With clean tidy surrounds and a warm and welcoming staff, the Hanoi Spark Hotel aims to please.”
I was told that The Hanoi Spark Hotel aims to target the Australian, USA, French and Israeli traveller with seasonal promotions and incentives to travel agents.
To back up Mr Trinh’s statement the Hanoi Spark Hotel are offering 50% off all rooms through until the 15th April 2011. Don’t be disappointed get in early and book now.
