Premier Inn, the UK’s largest hotel chain, has introduced its latest room design, the Next Evolution Style rooms, marking a significant step in enhancing guest experience.
The company says that this new design reflects shifts in cultural trends, including the rise of flexible working environments and the increasing influence of social content creation.
Key features of the Next Evolution rooms include a modern and calming decor with neutral and dove grey tones, enhanced lighting, and luxurious double shower heads. The rooms are designed to ensure a superior sleep experience, featuring floor-to-ceiling curtains for total blackout and fabric headboards in the brand’s signature purple for added comfort. Bedside charging stations and USB ports enhance connectivity, while soft purple night lights in bathrooms offer a gentle, guiding light.
Responding to the trend of social content creation, the rooms also incorporate ‘Instagrammable’ features, such as neon signs, modern fabrics, and ambient lighting.
The company says that the design has been reimagined to cater to the changing work habits of guests. A new flexi table replaces the traditional desk, offering a more relaxed working environment. The room layout is divided into three zones: a getting-ready area with vanity mirrors, a sleep area centred around the bed, and a ‘hive’ area designed for work, relaxation, and device charging. The use of floating, open furniture adds to the spacious feel of the rooms and reduces the likelihood of guests leaving items behind.
Sarah Simpson, head of Product & Proposition at Whitbread, said: ‘We have worked hard to enhance our hero room design and are so proud to launch our new rooms which are based on meticulous guest research, introducing more flexibility and personalisation for guests than ever before, as well as creating a more efficient environment for our team members to service the rooms. We know how important sleep is and as the experts in resting easy, we’ve invested to create the best environment possible for our guests, evolving these new rooms along with consumers’ needs. In doing so we’ve striven to create a warm and welcoming environment where guests can feel comforted and cocooned for the best night’s sleep possible.’
In addition to the room upgrades, select hotels now feature integrated ground floor entrances with a streamlined digital check-in experience and redesigned breakfast and bar areas. These areas include informal meeting spaces, diverse seating options, and booths, catering to the growing trend of breakfast meetings and social gatherings.
Premier Inn says that its new room design aims to provide a home-away-from-home experience, ensuring that guests feel comforted and cocooned, no matter which of the brand’s 850+ hotels they visit.
