Thomson Cruises, a UK-based cruise company, is launching its Platinum Cruises range. The platinum cruises will be offered aboard the company-owned Thomson Dream and Thomson Celebration cruise liners, which are to benefit from multi-million pound makeovers.

The Thomson Platinum Cruises will be similar to the company owned Platinum hotel brand, offering a contemporary look and ambiance onboard. All the Platinum ships will be rated 4T, and will be offering exclusive cruise experiences, including, according to the company – unmatched service, food and entertainment. The company is offering all-inclusive packages to customers of the new range, with air transportation provided by its sister company, Thomson Airways, from 19 airports in UK.

The refurbishment of the Thomson Dream and Thomson Celebration cruise liners includes modern-day suite designs, with extra amenities including iPod docking stations; the modernising of bars and lounges; and the upgrading of the restaurants with a discreet and minimal look. The remodelled Spa will have a completely new set of treatment rooms located adjacent to the salon.

Thomson Platinum Cruises are currently offering a Transatlantic Sunset cruise aboard Thomson Dream, commencing on December 9, 2012, from Lisbon, Portugal, and ending at Barbados in the Caribbean. Thomson Celebration will be offering its initial Platinum Cruise from May 6, 2013, from her homeport in Marmaris, Turkey, through the Eastern Mediterranean and Black Sea region. Platinum cruise guests will also be able to book for stays at several Platinum hotels during the cruise itinerary, through a customisable Cruise and Stay option. The 14-night Tropical Delights and Caribbean Treasures cruise prices start from £1,599 per person.

Fraser Ellacott, the managing director of Thomson Cruises said, ‘This is the next step in modernising our cruises in line with Thomson’s strategy of unique holiday experiences, offering getaways that customers cannot buy elsewhere. We’re very excited about launching Platinum Cruises, which will be on sale to the public from April 25, 2012. We’re sure that our customers will enjoy their new modern surroundings in the cabins and onboard our ships. Two of our strongest performing ships have been selected to offer Platinum Cruises, 90 percent of customers rate the Thomson Dream and the Thomson Celebration as good or excellent in our customer satisfaction questionnaires, so they are the perfect choice.’
