Wizz Air has announced the launch of a new route from Birmingham Airport to Cluj International Airport in Romania.
With the new service, UK holidaymakers and travellers can travel to Cluj- Napaco, the second most populous city in Romania and a popular destination for Music and Film festivals. The service also gives passengers a gateway to Transylvania, a popular tourist spot for its beauty and mystery.
Wizz Air’s new route will commence on December 16, 2018, with fares starting from £17.99. The seats are now on sale and can be booked online at wizzair.com.
Tom Screen, Acting Aviation Director, Birmingham Airport said: ‘We are delighted that Wizz Air has decided to increase its presence at Birmingham Airport by adding flights to Cluj this winter. With strong load factors across all their existing Birmingham network, we are sure that Wizz Air’s sixth route from the Midlands will continue their success’.
Wizz Air Chief Corporate Officer, Owain Jones, said: ‘Wizz Air continues to expand and invest in our UK operations, growing our network across the country. Cluj is an exciting new destination for our customers in the Midlands- the historic Transylvanian university city of culture and nightlife with a booming economy and easy access to the natural wonder of the Carpathian Mountains is an ideal choice for a city break with a difference. We’re proud that Wizz Air’s genuinely low fares give our UK customers the opportunity to explore many unique and interesting destinations and enjoy great service onboard one of Europe’s youngest and most efficient aircraft fleets.’
Wizz Air has also recently announced its expansion in Eilat Israel, launching two new low-fare routes Israel: Budapest – Eilat (Ovda) and Sofia – Eilat (Ovda). The new low-fare services will start operating during November 2018, along with five other winter routes from Eilat: London, Vienna, Bucharest, Riga and Warsaw, the airline said earlier this month.
